OUT WITH IT

A story of order and wildness
in puppetry, clown & movement

Rough House Puppet Arts’

Out With It
tells a playful and lyrical tale
about holding things in
and letting things go.

In the languages of found-object puppetry, clown, and visual poetry,
Out With It is a story at once intimate and universal about the balancing act of
creating order and embracing wildness.

Created and performed by
Rough House Co-Artistic Director Claire Saxe

Rough and ready.

We believe in art that can be brought into being wherever you are, with materials you can get your hands on.

The puppets, scenic elements, and material world of Out With It are created from almost entirely recycled and repurposed materials.

The piece is often presented in conjunction with a Found Object Puppetry Workshop, designed to send participants off into the world with the framework and tools to give life to rough art of their own.
